Terms & Conditions – General

This scholarship offer is conditional on your completing the remainder of your secondary school program and meeting all the requirements on your offer of admission. The University reserves the right to withdraw this scholarship offer if these conditions are not satisfied.

If, in the opinion of the University, a student has received adequate recognition in the form of other awards, the value of this scholarship may be reduced or the offer withdrawn.

If a sponsored student receives a University of Toronto award that, together with their sponsorship funding, exceeds their educational costs (eg. tuition, living expenses), the University reserves the right to reduce or cancel the award. For more information on sponsorships at U of T please visit: https://future.utoronto.ca/sponsored-students.

If an international student is approved for an international fee exemption and is subsequently charged domestic tuition, they may no longer be eligible for awards designated for international fee-paying students. The University reserves the right to reduce or cancel such awards. Students are advised to contact their Registrar’s Office with any questions regarding how a change in fee status may affect specific awards.

Payment of the award is conditional on full-time registration in September of the year in which it is awarded. Students must be registered full time for both the fall and winter sessions. The funds in payment of your award will be credited to your fees account following registration in September. After deduction of outstanding fees, any balance remaining will be issued by direct deposit. Please ensure your direct deposit banking information is updated on your ACORN account. Instructions are available through ACORN.

Students who withdraw, or who substantially reduce their course load during the academic year, may be required to repay all or part of their award. Please review the Renewable Scholarships section below for additional impact.

Unless otherwise indicated, renewable awards may be held up to four years of undergraduate study, provided the following renewal requirements are met each year: continue in your undergraduate program in good academic standing, successfully complete a full-time course load and maintain full-time registration status for both fall and winter terms. Please review the award specific terms and conditions below.
