Phishing Emails & Canada Post Delays

Phishing emails: Some students have been receiving phishing emails. Any communication sent from the University of Toronto will never ask you to click on or send personal or financial information to an external login or email. Learn more about phishing emails and how to report them.

Holiday Closure

Please note that on Tuesday, October 7th, Client Services and the Office of Convocation will open at one hour later, at 2:00pm. For the Thanksgiving holiday, they will also close early at 3:00pm on Friday, October 10, and be closed all day on Monday, October 13.

Holiday Closure

Client Services, Transcripts and the Office of Convocation will be closed on Friday, August 1 and Monday, August 4 for Presidential Day and the Civic Holiday. They will be re-opening on Tuesday, August 5 (Client Services at 1:00pm and the Office of Convocation at 9:00am).

Convera Maintenance

Please note: Convera will be down for scheduled maintenance on Friday, August 15th, 2025, from 9:00pm – 5:00am EDT. If you are planning on using Convera for payments, please so do before 2:00pm EDT on August 15th to avoid payment delays.

Planning Ahead – Before you arrive at your exam

  1. Make sure you double check your exam time and location in ACORN. You can also view a copy of the complete final exam schedule.
  2. Plan to arrive early. Leave extra time to account for traffic or transit delays. You are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled exam time. 
  3. Bring your TCard. You must show photo identification to gain access to the exam room.  If you do not have a TCard, you ca obtain one from the TCard Office  If you forget your TCard, you may present other government photo identification such as a passport, age of majority card  or driver’s license. 
  4. Review your course syllabus to see what items are permitted in the exam room.  Only items that have been authorized by your instructor are permitted.

Arriving at your Exam Location

  1. Make sure you use the washroom before you enter the exam room. Once you enter the exam room, you will not be permitted to leave until 30 minutes after the exam has started. 
  2. Turn off all electronic devices. All devices must be fully powered down and left in the designated spot or in the Exam Bag 
  3. Grab an exam bag. This is a clear plastic bag where you can place all your personal belongings and place them under your chair in the exam room. 
  4. Authorized items: You may bring the following items into the exam room with you:
    • TCard 
    • Nut free, odor free and silent snacks 
    • Unlabeled and transparent water bottle 
    • Pens, pencils, erasers, manual pencil sharpener and transparent pencil case 
    • Instructor authorized aids 
  5. Unauthorized items: 
    • All electronic devices (laptops, cellphones, tablets, camera, microphones etc.) 
    • Earbuds/headphones of any kind 
    • Snacks that are scented, nut based or in a wrapper 
    • Coffee cups/tumblers 
    • Labelled water bottles 
    • Opaque pencil cases 

Entering the Exam Room

  1. Have your TCard ready, you will be asked to show your TCard to enter the room.
  2. Make sure you have everything you need to write the exam, once seated, you will not be able to access your belongings until you hand in your exam.
  3. Place your belongings in the designated location.
  4. Remember, you cannot leave the exam room until 30 minutes after the start of the exam. 

What is an Exam Bag?

An exam bag is a clear plastic bag, re-sealable bag that you can use during final examinations to hold your personal belongings such as your wallet, keys, powered down cell phone, etc. The exam bag is the only bag that you can place under your seat during an examination.
