Confirmation of Enrolment or Graduation
If you need to confirm to an organization that you are a registered student or are eligible to graduate, here is how you can request the appropriate letter.
Confirmation of Enrolment (COE): Most students can access the COE through ACORN.
Confirmation of Graduation: if you need a letter confirming that you are eligible to graduate, please contact your registrar’s office.
Verifying Official U of T Documents

Protecting Your Privacy
The university collects, uses and protects your information in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). The following provides details on how we use and protect your information and if you wish to grant some access to your information (Third-Party Authorization).
Legal Status
When you begin your studies at the University of Toronto, your legal status will be verified to meet the reporting requirements of the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and Immigration Canada and ensure you’re paying the correct tuition fees. Legal status documentation that provides proof of legal status in Canada such as a passport and/or a study permit will be requested during the issuance of your TCard or at your Registrar’s Office. If your status in Canada has changed and you need to change the Legal Status on your academic record, please contact your registrar’s office.
Ontario and Non-Ontario Residency Fee Status
Domestic undergraduate students in a first or second entry program are billed one of two types of tuition fees which is determined by whether they are an Ontario or non-Ontario resident for fees purposes. Learn more about this process and how to appeal Domestic Non-Ontario Resident Tuition Fees.
