Holiday Closure

Wondering about how/when you will receive your award?

If you have been notified that you will receive award funding, it will be applied to your ACORN invoice after the registration period, typically in mid-to-late September or mid-to-late January. Awards are typically applied to outstanding balances first.

Types of Awards at U of T

Award Explorer

Award Explorer is a centralized, searchable database of thousands of awards from admissions to in-course and graduating awards. The database holds awards that are funded by the academic divisions, colleges, as well as awards that are institutionally centrally funded by the University of Toronto. This tool can help you explore the diverse funding opportunities available to you. Most of our scholarships are awarded to multiple recipients. You can apply for as many awards as you like. Some awards require no application; you will be considered automatically, and many awards can be combined with each other.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT and other AI applications, is prohibited when creating content for any University of Toronto undergraduate award application.

Students and applicants found to have used generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) to create content that is presented as their own ideas will be disqualified from award eligibility. This prohibited use of generative AI for content creation will be considered an academic offence. Types of Awards at U of T

Awards for International Students

All admitted international students, are automatically considered for some entrance scholarships. Additional awards may be available. These scholarships do not cover full tuition—students should plan for additional funding.

Awards for Part-Time Students

Students taking less than 60% of a full-time course load may qualify for specific awards. Opportunities vary by faculty and program.

Awards for Underrepresented Student Groups

Opportunities are available for Indigenous students, Black students, and other equity-deserving groups. See your faculty, college, or campus for opportunities.

Awards for Students Impacted by Conflict or War

These awards include admission and in-course scholarships for outstanding students, with some colleges also offering residence scholarships. Most are awarded automatically, while some require an application. Visit your faculty, college, or campus website for details.
